The most popular pvp physical sheild pets will follow a similar build:
Constitution, advanced health, firm wil, nature heart, wil and int training, int%, advanced mana lvl20-21. Followed by: physical lvl20 (lasts two rounds) allowing one to then use a second auto in even rounds.
The most likely pvpers are either melee or element based (with a few elite hunters). Defensive pets; The hard choice comes for the active skill.
Purify is the top choice, it can remove status allowing an assaulter to attack even if one is 'hold' by hitting himself. Also purify removes down, which is amazing.
Secondary options include mana burn (can be effective in cases where enemy has 2000-3000k mana and therefore if burned even once can have a dramatic effect on battle outcome.
The last real option is spirit connect which allow master to regen mana lost. It is useful and desired if one is heavily dependant on mp. Whatever the case remaining SP should be spent to level a pets active skill.
Offensive pets are build slightly differently, favouring magic hit and magic attack over con. This allows the pet to play an offensive role in pvp. The mos used skill is flame spray, an effective tool vs opponents. Most opponents will be using melee def auto on their pet allowing an increase chance to kill enemy pet while damaging the enemy as well.
An often overlooked active is cold wave. I perfer the effects to that of flame spray.
The reason that mana burn is a defensive trait is because the pet does not require magic attacking skills for the skill to be effective. The skill can be used by both pets who are attacking and defensive but the skill itself lends better to a pet with added hp/mp then magic attack.
The strength of physical sheild pets is that it allows pet to play a role in battle more than a sheild.
Purify, mana burn, flame spray are great pvping skills. However the physical sheild pet has many draw backs the first is the first round protection of its master. Physical sheild leaves on open to a first round attack which can change the balance in a pvp battle. Also, if physical shield pet is mana burned it has a serious effect on the number of rounds it can stay immune. Lastly, physical sheild pets, like many other non fairies and demons are easily killed by hunter first attack auto. Making the pet almost useless in hunter pvp battles.
Personally I perfer the merfolk to the golden pig, higher int/wil stats and it's auto can be used in even rounds in between physical sheild. Physical sheild blocks melee and range attacks, it does not block magic attacks, therefore a second pet with magic sheild is required in some cases and is a luxury to many players.
The build is the exact same just substitute magic sheild for physical shield.
Remember before any pvp, non-droid users are able to see pet skills and your own equipment.
Don't forget to look at his and maybe adjust pets/tactics or simply avoid battles that are lost before they start. When pvping a physical sheild pet mana burn is a great tactic.
